Valentine’s Day Escapes 2015 is reprinted from Cruising 101 in the Tobago News

It’s too late to plan a local romantic getaway for Valentine’s Day if you live in Trinidad & Tobago or Dominica. This year, Valentine’s Day falls on the Saturday before Carnival, so all of the great escape spots are taken. The villas and private apartments may be ideal, but they will be hosting the tourist and visitors who booked rooms six to twelve months ago. However, all is not lost because I have five romantic weekend escapes for Valentine’s Day for you to consider.

Jolly Beach Resort & Spa All Inclusive (Antigua)

Dominicans can take a short flight to the V.C. Bird International Airport, a mere 20 minutes away from the 40 acre beauty that is Jolly Beach Resort. Nestled in the parish of St Mary’s on Antigua’s west coast, Jolly Beach is situated at the best beach in Antigua, or in the top three, if you want to entertain a debate. Jolly Beach offers adequate accommodation, and its all-inclusive package is good value.

Grenadian by Rex Resorts (Grenada)

Trinbagonians should consider Grenada for the Valentine’s weekend rendezvous. In fact, if you are not into Valentine’s Day, you could say that you are traveling to the Spice Isle to engaged in comparative analysis of Carnivals. Yes, Grenada’s Carnival season is the same as Trinidad and Tobago. Grenada is a great island for relaxation, but it is not as tranquil as Anguilla. If you had the opportunity to experience Turtle Beach, you would love Grenadian. Located close to Maurice Bishop Intl Airport, this charming resort prides itself in showcased the island’s culture in its culinary delights. The ocean front rooms are a favorite for retuning guests, as it offers the most fantastic views of the Caribbean Sea.

Courtyard Bridgetown (Barbados)

It is difficult to get the beach and great accommodation at an affordable price in Barbados. In this case, I am suggesting great accommodation over the beach, which is just across the street. While Courtyard Hotels are ideally suited for business, the comfort of the beds, convenience of the location, amenities, and high quality free wifi, shifts the property into an ideal location for a getaway.

To those readers who can manage to get a week’s vacation approved easily, here are two extended weekend suggestions.
